A very strong but enjoyable Double Corona. Unfortunately discontinued.
Already visually it becomes clear why Bolivar cigars from Cuba belong to the premium brands. A noble, brown wrapper with an oily sheen forms a beautiful coat for the filler and binder from Cuba. The cold smell then also indicates that the Bolivar Coronas Gigantes is also ideal as the final cigar of an evening. Because this long filler is anything but lax and comes up with a spiciness that is typical of Cubas, but worth mentioning at this point. A play of aromas of earth, black pepper, leather, chocolate, coffee and spice, accompanied by strong roasted aromas. The Gigantes is always creamy and occasionally sweet notes of caramel appear, even if they are restrained. Processing and burn are perfect, but tightly rolled the Bolivar Coronas Gigantes demands a strong draw in the first third of the smoke.
Like all Bolivar formats, the Bolivar Coronas Gigantes can also score with its tobacco power. So this vitola is not suitable for absolute beginners, because its strength will certainly bring one or the other aficionado to his knees. Experienced smokers, however, will have all the more pleasure with this blend, which convinces with its rich palette of typical Cuban flavours and was able to score a proud 93 points in Cigar Insider. With this cigar Bolivar prove once again what they can do: Strong cigars with an appealingly wide range of aromas!
The Bolivar Coronas Gigantes is a strong, aromatic cigar with a rich bouquet that definitely offers a special kind of smoke. This cigar from Cuba is particularly enjoyable after an opulent meal or in a cosy leather armchair together with a good whisky. Tip: Store this cigar for two or three years. You won't regret it, because further maturation does the aroma a lot of good.
