A little known jewel amongst Habano brands.
From the very beginning, La Gloria Cubana has been a luxury brand. It was launched as early as 1855 and looks back on a long history. Its cigars are characterised by sweet, floral and fruity aromas. Connoisseurs appreciate the brand, especially the elegant slim formats. Unfortunately, the portfolio was greatly reduced over the years, the trend towards ever larger ring gauge demanded great sacrifices from the brand.
Exclusively for La Casa del Habano shops, and for friends of larger ring gauges, there has been the Inmensos since 2011, a Sublimes with a 54 ring gauge and 164 mm in length. It exudes a strong, earthy aroma with a fruity sweetness, underpinned by a subtle mineral texture. This speciality is produced in extremely small quantities and was unfortunately discontinued.
The brand with the impressive name was created as early as 1855 by the "Sociedad Cabañas y Castro". The company headquarters were located at Calle Corales 53 in Havana. Jose' Fernando Rocha bought the brand in 1905 and founded a factory at 364 Calle San Miguel, which was famous at the time and bore his name, but no longer exists. He also founded the Bolivar brand there in 1921. He was one of the first cigar pioneers of the then newly proclaimed Republic of Cuba and enjoyed the respect of his fellow men and Cuban society.
