The popular series of Hoyo de Monterrey La Casa del Habano cigars got growth.
On September 26, 2018, the world premiere of the Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos took place in Warsaw. The new format was launched exclusively for the stores of the La Casa del Habano franchise network. With a length of 180 mm and a ring gauge of 49, this format is now unique in the portfolio of Habanos. The production name of this format is "Paco". It previously appeared only once in the standard range as "El Morro" of the San Cristobal de la Habana brand.
The new Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos is produced "totalmente a mano" - as a completely handmade long filler - and consists of carefully selected leaves from tobacco plantations in the San Juan y Martinez area, which is one of the best growing areas in the top Vuelta Abajo region.
According to the importer, the light tobacco blend spoils with aromatic richness in a downright creamy smoke. A detailed tasting will surely follow. Up to this point, however, it sounds as if the recipe of the Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure de Luxe has simply been poured into a larger format. Good thing! Because for years, the Epicure de Luxe are one of the finest cigars in the portfolio of Habanos.
