Shares its dimensions with a Cohiba Maduro 5 of the same name.
Although Spain is one of the countries with the most regional editions, this is the first time that the La Flor de Cano brand has been chosen.
The chosen module, a Mágicos (52 x 115 mm), which has in fact lent its name to the regional edition, is otherwise known as the Petit Robusto. A vitola that has no doubt already won over Spanish aficionados, as it was used in 2014 by Ramón Allones for a previous Edición Regional España: the Caprichos.
For the occasion, the Mágicos is dressed in a special ring. As for the Casanova (Edición Regional Italia 2016), the cigar wears a ring inspired by the one worn by the Cristales, a Long Corona presented in a glass tube, removed from the regular brand catalogue in the 1970s. In addition, it is personalized with the cigar's name appearing under the brand logo.
The production of the Mágicos is limited to 50,000 boxes of 10 cigars, individually numbered and intended for the Spanish market.
La Flor de Cano, "Cano Loma & Co." from its original name, is a trademark dating from before the Cuban Revolution, registered in 1884 by the brothers Tomás and José Cano.
Later, in 1940, the mark was entered in the register of manufacturer-exporters under the name "Juan Cano Sainz". This registration was made in the same year as the registration of the Rafael González and El Rey del Mundo brands.
It seems that Flor de Cano has always remained a small family business. However, at the time of the Cuban Revolution, the brand acquired a solid reputation in the English and Spanish markets. This allowed it to survive over time without increasing its production significantly. At that time, the catalogue offered 8 different cigars ranging from the Petit Corona to the Churchill.
Today, La Flor de Cano cigars from special productions are all rolled "Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larga" made of tobacco leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region. The regular catalogue consists of a single cigar, the Petit Coronas (40 x 123mm), rolled "Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Corta" with leaves from the Vuelta Abajo and the Semi Vuelta and dressed with a cedar leaf. It has a pleasantly balanced and light taste.
