Romeo y Julieta Linea de Oro

The gold line of the Romeo y Julieta brand. An absolute sensation!

 

At the 22nd Festival del Habano in Cuba, Habanos S.A. presented a completely new series of the Romeo y Julieta brand in 2020. The Linea de Oro now represents the exclusive premium line in the portfolio of the brand and was introduced for the 145th anniversary of the brand. Consisting of three completely new formats which one searched in vain so far in the entire Cuban Vitola portfolio.



The strength of the new line is classified by Habanos as medium to strong. First samples, which we were allowed to taste in Havana, presented themselves, however, rather medium-bodied than strong, but all the more complex and highly aromatic. And if fresh cigars come along like this, what can be expected from a somewhat more mature cigar!


Dianas, Hidalgos and Nobles are the names of the three new cigars chosen to expand the range. After the Linea 1935 of the brand Montecristo, it is now the second Cuban cigar series which is adorned by an additional ring at the foot of the cigar. In general, the presentation of the Línea de Oro belly bands can be described as very elegant and extremely elaborate. In chic gold tone and raised lettering, as you would expect from a premium line.



The packaging is also hard to beat in terms of attention to detail. In a high-quality box of 20 pieces with a high-gloss lacquered finish on stained sycamore maple wood in the brand's typical red color, which arouses desirability at first glance. The beauty of the grain of the wood used in the boxes was not to be hidden under the high-gloss finish and ensured that this still shines through under the varnish. A characteristic design element of the packaging are also the sloping edges in the middle part of the boxes, which are additionally provided with a gold-colored trim. The presentation is crowned by the pompous gold medal applied to the top, which shows the typical Romeo y Julieta balcony scene, as known from the logo of the brand.
