An extremely good cigar, great in the morning with a cup of coffee.
In 2009, Habanos S.A. celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Trinidad brand by releasing a Robusto in the Trinidad line at the Havana Libre hotel during the XI Festival del Habano in Cuba. It was sold in 12 and 24 count boxes, but sadly in 2012 it was announced that both the Robusto T and the Robusto Extra were being discontinued bringing the total number of regular production vitolas in the Trinidad brand down to three.
The signature of Trinidad cigars, the little tail at the top of the head has not been forgotten by the torcedores. The Trinidad Robusto T vitola measures 12.4 mm in length. It has a diameter of 12.84 mm. Its cepo 50 gives it the Robusto module as its name indicates. The Trinidad Robusto T is clothed in a cape claro (light brown) that is smooth to the touch and slightly shiny.
It is slow burning and produces a razor-thin ash. The draw is easy. The first third starts with intense oak and cedar notes. A creamy feel, a leathery smell and a little sweetness are also present. The lips are covered with spicy and peppery touches. Finally, a pu-erh tea aroma is detected, giving the cigar a peaty aftertaste. The tea aroma gains strength in the second third. It mixes with a jasmine scent, a chocolate flavour and a peppery accent. The cedar continues to be present. In the third third, the palate experiences an aromatic cocktail of herbs, fresh hay, pu-erh tea, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom. Woody and earthy tones are also released.
